Great news: we’ve hired a new Lead Boatwright for our South Lake Union Boatshop! Please join us in welcoming Josh Anderson to our community.

Josh is a carpenter from Owl’s Head, Maine. He’s an alumnus of the Apprenticeshop boatbuilding program in Rockland, and has worked at several boatbuilding and custom carpentry shops. His boatbuilding portfolio has focused mainly on small craft such as building a Herreshoff Buzzards Bay 18’ and Joel White 14’ Peapod.

He’s happily married to his wife, Sarah, whom he met at the Apprenticeshop. She taught him to sail on their 25’ wooden Friendship Sloop, which they restored and operated a charter business on. They have since spent many years sailing along the coast of Maine together.

Josh earned his undergraduate degree in business from Boston University, and most recently earned a Masters in Maritime Management from Maine Maritime Academy. He is excited to join the CWB family and learn more about the West Coast’s boatbuilding heritage.

We’re really excited to have Josh on board, and look forward to his late-November start!
